Bennett’s Bluff, South Island, New Zealand, is a stunning location.
The morning I arrived at this spectacular location for my photo shoot, it was pre-dawn.
At times motorists park on the pull-off on the side of the road. I was fortunate the morning of my shoot to occupy an empty vehicle bay, so not disturbing anyone.
I set up my tripod and camera and, waiting for the sunrise is always a special moment for everyone, but I think especially for landscape photographers.
It was summertime, but in New Zealand it is always fresh in the early morning. The temperature perks one up without appreciating caffeine.
As the darkness surrendered to the daylight, the light across the sky and Lake Wakatipu was incredibly beautiful.
Due to the cold, the pink and blue light in the sky were so intense and soaked the water with sharp pinks and weakened as the sun rose.
Bennett’s Bluff is on the Queenstown/Glenorchy Road. It is one of the most spectacular drives, with frequent photo opportunity stops!
With Lake Wakatipu on the one side of the road and endless mountain ranges on the other, with the road weaving through valleys. It is inspirational
The reflections on the lake were memorable due to the calm morning.
Thank you for appreciating my work!
