Have you considered what your favourite destination is?
One of my favourite photo shoot locations is Mount Aspiring National Park, in South Island, New Zealand. It is remarkable at any time of the year, but of course with the snow capped ranges, it is even more spectacular.
During the early morning I drove to Glendhu Bay on the peripheral of Wanaka, South Island, New Zealand. I stepped into Lake Wanaka at the break of dawn. The sun rise was spectacular but fairly short. Whilst I was standing in the lake, wearing my waders is an advantage, I turned around and noticed the snow clouds drifting over the mountains in Mt Aspiring National Park. I collected my camera, tripod and photographic gear and walked towards my vehicle. Once I’d packed my camera and equipment away, I drove towards my playground in the National Park.
When I stopped to capture this image, an impressive Hereford cow had every intention to charge at me. I knew the importance of capturing this mountain range with a passion that is reflected in my love of the mountains. The landscape is incredibly different in that the hills and smaller mountains have distinct volcanic formations which are intriguing. I made it to my vehicle just in time before the cow decided to take me on.
The golden glow of the sunrise across the fields and mountains is warm and inviting, isn’t it? The fence posts and poles are so characteristic of the farms anywhere in the world, but particularly in South Island, New Zealand. The clouds were heavy with impending snow and descended on the ranges shortly after I captured this image.
As a Landscape Photographer, I love people, travel and photography in equal measure.
Thank you for appreciating my work!
