This was my first shot of my photoshoot early this morning at Burleigh Heads, Gold Coast, Australia.
The conditions were fairly rough, the wind was a northerly which resulted in ‘mushy’ surf, that advanced with power over the rocks.
Burleigh Heads is renowned for surfing. It is a beautiful location, a fantastic beach, which is varied. Rocks in the one area, and of course the beach on the other side of the club house.
With the weather conditions the way they were, it necessitated my increasing the height of my tripod immediately, as within minutes of positioning myself on the edge of the ocean, I already experienced a splash on my lens. I have all the appropriate photographic equipment for such emergencies, at hand.
As the sunrise progressed, it became more interesting to my left. So I naturally rotated my camera on my tripod to face Burleigh Heads and captured some special shots of a beautiful morning sky.
It’s on photoshoots like this that I instantly posture myself into what I may need to do next to change with the conditions. I love the thrill of pounding surf crashing against the shore.
Thank you for appreciating my work!
