Mona, which is on the outskirts of Ayr, Northern Queensland, Australia, is predominantly a sugar cane growing area.
Although, in saying that, it is also perfectly situated for growing a variety of melons and corn.
The farmers work hard and long hours. But that is farming universally, and then you combine that with the weather conditions.
My respect for farmers has increased since I witnessed first hand what is involved with having a successful farm. But being so weather dependent.
I arrived just before sunset. The weather conditions predicted a clear sky. But when I arrived at my usual spot, the rain clouds were gathering momentum.
As I stood, with my tripod and camera ready for a great shoot, the dark rain clouds almost grew in a circle around me and looked ominous.
The conditions were calm. I took advantage of every minute I had before surrendering to the rain.
It is a photoshoot I will remember for some time to come.
Thank you for appreciating my work!
