I drove from Queenstown, to Lake Pukaki. The drive was fantastic. I departed from Queenstown before sunrise, particularly as it was raining. My intention was to avoid trucks, as much as possible. It was to be my final photoshoot before making my way to Christchurch airport the next morning.
The conditions were different from my first photoshoot at this wonderful location. Lake Pukaki is a glacial lake, the water colour is incredible in that it is ‘sensitive’ in response to the colour of the sky.
Driving along the road, off the beaten track, was like being in another world. Far from humanity, whilst drawing closer to the mountains, Mt Cook, in particular, which was slightly shrouded in cloud that morning.
I appreciated the moodiness of the clouds and the atmosphere they produce, whilst extracting exceptional colours from the clouds, mountains, sky and water. Out of this world and each photoshoot, is my time in worshipping God. The lake looked like ‘treacle’ in this image.
It took all of me to ‘tear’ myself from this beautiful part of New Zealand and to complete my journey to Christchurch.
Thank you for appreciating my work!
