Come Alive!

12th December 2017

During my time in Florence (Firenze), Italy, Italia, I had the most incredible opportunities to shoot this wonderful city.

This image was captured from Piazzale Michelangelo, Florence, Italy.

Before leaving Wanaka, South Island, New Zealand, to fly to Florence, I used a map to plan my photographic shoots.

I was invited to the city as I had been awarded a prize for my work, as Clare Page Photography, which was an honour.

Florence is a maze of streets, which are framed by incredible buildings which literally take your breath away.

The majority of my photoshoots were sunrise shoots so it involved navigating my way through the narrow cobbled passageways representing roads. I wondered, over the centuries, how many people had walked upon those intriguing cobbled pathways and roads.

Before finally making my way to Piazzale Michelangelo, I zigzagged across the city and climbed the impressive number of steps which took me to where I intended to be, overlooking the magnificent city of Florence and the Arno River, at sunrise.

Piazzale Michelangelo is so inspirational I did several photoshoots from there during different times of the day. The advantage of using photographic filters.

As the night was surrendering to the day, I prepared my photographic equipment ready for my shoot. Securing my camera on my tripod for an appropriate capture of this marvellous city.

Witnessing the daybreak behind the hills surrounding Florence, was memorable.

It’s wonderful watching the natural light transform the city from a bright glow of street lights to soaking it in natural light. The transition from day to night is something that always stimulates me.

The landscape of this city is spectacular. It almost nestles in a ‘bowl’.

My passion is photography, people and travel, as a Landscape Photographer, they are all equal to me.

Thank you for appreciating my work!
